Avignon, Day 1 - 9 Septembre 2011

Arrived in Avignon after a long day of traveling and headed to Hotel Medieval where Mike, the owner, was a spiffy Brit who paralleled John Cleese from Faulty Towers. Explored for Avignons back streets for a bit, which reminded us of the east village.





Stopped for some pizza and salade italienne, at our new favorite La Pili in Place Des Corps








A few glasses of Local Cotes du Rhone later...




Decided to go out after dinner, and wandered into a local bar




Immediately called attention to ourselves by ordering beer, which apparently French girls DO NOT do!




Made friends with some local riff raff who only spoke French. It was actually the most French we've ever spoken in our lives.




Patrice et Danny invited us to le discotheque outside of Avignon, but we declined...we've seen the movie Taken.




Very handsome bartender/DJ who was easier to look at than to listen to
