3 Septembre 2011

After a seamless journey to Paris (if you don't count sitting next to a smelly French boy laughing like a crazy person at the Sky Mall Magazine for 2 hours, specifically the butt pads page, and Beth breaking her glasses in half), we hopped a taxi to Gare de L'est, and snuck on a train to Colmar without a reservation...who knew you needed one! 40 extra euros later, we arrived in Colmar!

It was hot as hell! We were not prepared for tropical weather! Regardless, we found our way to our bed & breakfast

The owners of the B & B make their own organic wine. Beth graciously offered to pose in front of fermentation tank!

Have yet to taste the wine, but hopefully we will before we leave!

As small as Colmar may seem, we were in s perpetual state of general confusion and disorientation. After checking in, we decided to get un cafe, but this proved to be difficult. Everybody seemed to be lounging and drinking beverages at the numerous outdoor cafes, but every time we walked up to one we walked away without a hostess to be seen, and found ourselves here

Madame Gil would not be happy with our French speaking skills.

We're sure we will pick it up as the trip goes on. Also, we had some ice cream since it was simple to order

To finish off our 48 hour day, we treated ourselves to local Gewürztraminer avec une pizze et salade at Cafe L'Amandine!

Needless to say, we got lost on the way home and slept for 15 hours.
